Project Index Sheet Template
A project index sheet that lists what should be in a project folder - enquiry, quote, drawings and calculations, purchase orders and material certificates, fabrication job cards and process checks - and tracks the job through its stages, each signed and dated. It is the front sheet that keeps a project folder in order.
Keeping project records complete and retrievable supports the control of documented information and the traceability a quality management system aligned with ISO 9001 expects, and for fabrication to BS EN 1090 it helps evidence the full project trail.
Built for Project Traceability
The sheet captures the folder contents and the project stages:
- Project number, client and project details
- The folder contents from enquiry and quote to drawings, purchase orders and material certificates, job cards and process checks
- The project stages from enquiry approval to manufacture, finishing, delivery, declaration of performance and invoicing
- A completed-by and date against each stage
What's Included in this Project Index Sheet
The form is set out as a project front sheet:
- Project header - project number, client and project details
- Folder contents - a checklist of the documents the folder should hold
- Process checks - the project stages from enquiry to invoicing, each with completed by and date
Who Needs a Project Index Sheet?
Any project-based business - fabricators, engineers, contractors - that keeps a folder per job and wants a consistent index of its contents and progress. It suits businesses working to ISO 9001, and to BS EN 1090 where the project trail matters.
